Tony Mahabir has extensive business development experience. As a young entrepreneur himself, he co-founded a business at the age of 30. Little did he know, that this organization would grow into a multi-million dollar enterprise. Over those years, Tony has established five other businesses and provides strategic and management counselling to the presidents of these businesses on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis in addition to being just a phone call away, should the need arise to bounce ideas or to obtain a second opinion.

With over 16+ years as a business entrepreneur, he has faced the ups and downs of the Canadian economy first hand. He learned that business success is not limited only to the strongest, or the most intelligent but instead to those most responsive to change. Starting, managing and growing a business is about a never-ending process assessing and modifying a business’s Competitive Advantage. This means that the right mix of strategy, marketing, financial, human resource, information technology and communication techniques are critical to having a sustainable competitive advantage.

Tony is currently Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Canfin Financial Group of Companies. He serves as the Treasurer for The Federation of Independent Mutual Funds Dealer. He has held other positions in the past two decades with various organizations such as: President, Chief Compliance Officer, Vice-President of Marketing, Branch Manager,  Certified Financial Planner, Risk management advisor related to insurance, investments and portfolio management. Recruiting and business development manager, trainer, coach, and lecturer for administrative staff, independent consultants, and managers. He has a deep understanding of both domestic and global business issues and sees the importance and interconnectedness of sound leadership, strategy and execution in today’s business enterprises.
